Isabelle Fuhrman on the Success

Isabelle Fuhrman was interviewed by Celebuzz about what she thinks of the movie's huge success on the first weekend.

“One of my friends actually called me!” Isabelle told Celebuzz. “I got a bunch of emails from my agent and from a lot of people at Lionsgate. I was like ‘Oh my god, seriously that much?!’”
“I was texting some of them the other day and I think we’re kind of still in shock about it,” Isabelle told us… “We knew it had a huge fan following, and it was kind of growing [the fan following], but this was so much bigger than we expected.”
Isabelle was a contributing factor to ticket sales, laughing: “I’ve seen it five times and I think I’m gonna see it again this week!”

Hunger Games Wins It's Second Friday

Wrath of the Titans and Mirror Mirror did not stop The Hunger Games from winning the box office again on Friday.

"The Lionsgate event pic easily stayed at No. 1 at the Friday box office despite the entry of two new titles, Warner Bros.’ 3D action pic Wrath of the Titans and Relativity Media’s Snow White movie Mirror Mirror, starring Julia Roberts, Lily Collins and Armie Hammer.
Hunger Games is projected to earn anywhere from $20 million to $23 million on Friday for a second weekend gross of $64 million, putting its 10-day domestic cume north of $250 million, a staggering sum.
Warner Bros.’ Wrath of the Titans got off to a slower than expected start, with Friday’s earnings in the $11 million range, including $1 million in midnight earnings. At that pace, the sequel may not gross much more than $30 million for the weekend.
Mirror Mirror is expected to gross $6 million or $7 million on Friday for a weekend debut in the $22 million to $24 million range."
According to Box Office Mojo, The Hunger Games Friday estimates are now at 18.85M. Wrath and Mirror, Mirror fall in with 12.42M and 5.8M respectively.

The Surprise of The Hunger Games!

Even reading the books 8 times, I was still surprised by some of the things that were in the movie. I think that is one of the best parts: that the movie shows us other points of view and added other things in, to make in interesting for everyone, even if you have read the book multiple times. Without these, I would just be waiting for the major scenes to come. NextMovie has created a list of the biggest surprises.

"Foxface and Katniss Bump into Each OtherWe weren't expecting Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and the sneaky Foxface (Jacqueline Emerson) to become, um, acquainted so early in the Games … but we really did like watching the two jointly opt for the flight (as opposed to fight) strategy to survival after colliding into one another. It definitely set them apart from the viciousness underway back at the Cornucopia.
Cato and Glimmer Sittin' Under a TreeIt was a pretty gossip-worthy shocker that Glimmer (Leven Rambin) and Cato (Alexander Ludwig) – who were equally good-looking and arrogant, come to think of it – became a cross-district item during "The Hunger Games." In the books, it seemed like Cato might've had a shine for his own district's Clove (Isabelle Fuhrman), but we can't lie, we kinda dug the movie matching.
Snow's Perspective on the GamesWe knew we'd get to see a little more of President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the film than we'd read about, but what we did not foresee was how thoroughly his position on the Games would be represented. We loved seeing him in his rose garden dishing out knowledge on how to keep the masses in check. It was a great set up for the bigger picture (and, of course, the sequel "Catching Fire").
Revolution Hits District 11Director Gary Ross did tease that there'd be a peek at the discontent in District 11 in the movie, but we had no idea it'd be so intense! It was almost like an early glimpse at the ruckus of "Mockingjay." And who didn't fist pump when those Capitol grain supplies went down? Well played, Steven Soderbergh.
Caesar Flickerman Running the ShowHaving Caesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci) serve as a bizarre pacemaker for the movie was darn effective. For one, those moments where he popped in Capitol TV-style were madly entertaining reminders that this was a show, and they also helped to move the action forward. Everyone knew Tucci would bring pure gold to the role, but we didn't expect him to have so much good screen time to work with.
Haymitch's Star-Crossed Lovers PlayIt was well-anticipated that Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson) would use the "star-crossed lovers from District 12" bit in his sponsorship efforts, but the movie added a twist by having him put the dual victors concept into motion. Not only was it nice to see how that game change came about, but it was also great to watch Haymitch work it for both of his mentees.
Cato's Descent into MadnessIn the muttation-driven battle between Cato, Katniss and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), we loved it when Peeta put his throwing strength to good use and chucked that career tribute right over his shoulders to protect his lady. But what was even better was Cato's final monologue. While he started out tough and eager to bring "honor" to his district, by the end, of it he'd become just crazy enough to realize how senseless the Games were. Those lines added some really interesting complexity to the scene.
Seneca and the BerriesPerhaps the biggest surprise of all was the moment Seneca Crane (Wes Bentley), having just allowed two out-lying district tributes to out-maneuver him, was locked in a room  to find a bowl of nightlock berries awaiting. Throughout the movie, he was clearly under warning not to disappoint, and we readers of the books knew things wouldn't pan out so well for him. Still, this scene served as a testament to both the gravity of his mistake and Snow's wicked cleverness."

Josh Hutcherson Recalls Working with Suzanne Collins

Josh Hutcherson was interviewed by DIY.
"How involved was Suzanne Collins in the making of the film? She was very involved. It was great actually, as she was in the first audition that I had, which was mildly traumatising. To walk into the room and see the author of the book! She gave me a call when I got the part, saying ‘if there’s anything you need, here’s my cell phone, my home number, my email, just let me know’. She’s so sweet and she was on set a bunch. It was great to have her there, as it felt it gave the fans a sense of calm to know they weren’t just giving it to Hollywood to make whatever version they want. She was great at making us not feel intimidated, she was aware of it. She knows we are actors who make our own interpretation of it, said she can’t wait to see what we do with it. Like, excited to see it move into the next medium. She was on board to make little adjustments to make it the best movie possible. She offered herself up for any questions, but the [character] was all in the books. I’ve never read a character in my life who I’ve felt was so much who I am as a person, and stood for the same things I stood for. When I was reading it, I thought how has Suzanne written a book that is who I am. Everything about Peeta I believe in 100%.Before signing on, did you think about the Twilight thing, and how your life could become like theirs?I didn’t think about that when I signed on. For me, the reason I do movies is because I love acting and playing different roles. When I read these books, I connected with Peeta on so many levels, and what I believe in is what he believes in. I would’ve died if I had not gotten to play this role. That didn’t enter my mind until after the fact: ‘oh wow, there’s that too…’ It’s exciting to have that support from fans. Were you at all starstruck by the big names in the cast, such as Donald Sutherland and Woody Harrelson? These are people I’ve looked up to my whole life, and now they’re working with me, and being in movies I’m in – it’s incredible. Woody Harrelson, out of all the cast members in the movie, is the one whose movies I’ve seen the most – White Men Can’t Jump is one of my favourite mvoies ever. Working with him was an honour, and now we text and talk all the time. He’s actually a friend of mine! He’s not just Woody Harrelson, he’s my friend! How is this even possible, that’s amazing!Did fans of the book show up on the set of The Hunger Games?Lionsgate were so tight when it came to security on location. When we walked from our trailers to set, or to our cars, they built like barricades so people couldn’t see the costumes. One time we were in North Carolina, and it was the weekend, and I got into the hotel lobby and there were two girls who had driven nine hours on the chance I would be there. They had a bunch of stuff for me to sign and everything. They have their ways! All that pressure was washed away as soon as I got on set as I started acting, and doing what I loved. When I was in in New York City for the premiere release of the trailer on Good Morning America, one of the fans had made me a hand-knitted scarf, and gave it to me out of nowhere. It was one of the nicest things a fan has ever given me, for free!"

Foxface Suicide Theory!

Did anyone else wonder why they showed Foxface doing such a good job with picking all the poisonous leaves in training and then she ate the berries, which she probably knew were poisonous? Well, we have a theory! Foxface probably killed herself on purpose because she knew the other people left (Cato, Thresh, Katniss, and Peeta) were all really strong fighters and would kill her easily. By eating the berries, she dies a painless death, because she recognized that she was going to die anyway! You can watch the video above, they start explaining the theory at the 4:15 mark.

Lenny Kravitz talks about Cinna's Style

Collider talked to Lenny Kravitz about music, acting, and Hunger Games!

"Talk a little bit about your look in the movie.  You have a little bit of makeup going.  I haven’t read the book.  In the book, how much is that you, and talk a little bit about the middle ground.
KRAVITZ: I talked about the gold, but I wasn’t sure how outrageous he was, or could be.  A lot of kids who read the book, when they thought I was playing Cinna said, “Oh, you’re playing the gay guy.  The really flamboyant guy.”  People don’t really know— like, what is he?  I guess they also assume because he’s a stylist and he’s got gold eyeliner.  But what I thought was interesting was let’s make him right down the middle.  You don’t know what he is.  It doesn’t matter.  Let’s pull him back.  Gary [Ross] and I spoke and we were like, “Let’s pull him back.”  And I was like, “Yeah, I see him more as a Tom Ford or an Yves Saint Laurent.”  Great designers, they dress classic.  That was my inspiration. That’s the portrayal I saw on screen.  You act selectively.  You don’t do a lot of movies.  What was it about the material and this character that you’re like, “I want to be a part of this.”
KRAVITZ: I fell in love with the book.  As soon as Gary called—because I didn’t know what the book was—he offers me the role and says I can have the role.  Just show up.  But I’m like, “I don’t know what the hell this is.”  So I read the book and fell in love with the book.  Thought it was great storytelling.  I’ve been wanting to move forward after Precious.  I really enjoy doing this.  Here was a good opportunity to work with a great director, a great book, a great cast.  I was like, “I’m in.”What was the reaction when you started telling friends or family that you were going to be doing this.
KRAVITZ: Well, I didn’t know how big the book was.  So I’m telling people and all these kids are like, “What?  You’re doing Hunger Games?  You’re playing Cinna?”  Everywhere I was going.  And I was like, “How did I miss this?”  Everybody’s kid had read the book.  Everyone.  Even adults: “Oh, I read the book, too.  The books are great.  I read all three of them.”  “Really?”  People were blown away that I got this.  All of a sudden my cool factor went up with the youth, man."

Hunger Games Makes 10.8 Million Domestically - Another Record!

Another record has been set!

"Lionsgate’s film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling young-adult novel grossed $10.8 million on Monday — the best showing ever for a Monday outside of holidays, the Christmas stretch and summer.
Hunger Games has amassed $163.4 million in only four days of play at the domestic box office, suggesting the film could easily gross $350 million or more in North America."

Jennifer Lawrence on the Cover of Interview Germany

Jennifer Lawrence is on the April 2012 cover of Interview Germany. The cover is above and we also have a sneak peek of the interview.

"On which pop culture personalities she loves: “Sometimes I think, I should rather have more artistic answers ready. But the truth is: I’d like to be Bridget Jones and I am interested in Hulk Hogan.”
On what she’d love to do with her first real check: “When I get my first real check, I want to bathe in a pool full of pasta.”
On her fear of ghosts: “I’m scared of ghosts. Just yesterday when I moved into a new room at the hotel, I was deeply convinced, that I shouldn’t wash my face, because if I would look into the mirror, I would actually see a ghost.”

Willow Shields Excited to film Mockingjay

Willow Shields was interviewed by Wetpaint Entertainment about changes for her, her favourite scenes, and the next movies.

"Is this the craziest month of your life?Willow Shields: Definitely. Yeah! The premiere was insane. I got out of the car and all the fans there were crazy. Just seeing all the people there — that are there for the film and there to support the cast members — is amazing. They’re awesome.
And just to be able to see the movie was so great. I think the fans are going to love it.
Did anyone prepare you for that experience was going to be like? No! No one. I had no idea it was going to be that big. I had no idea that that many fans would be there for the first movie. And just thinking, what’s it going to be like for the last movie?
What was a scene you really loved seeing on screen?I think one of the most amazing scenes I saw was Rue’s death scene just because I think Amandla Stenberg is an amazing actress. Jennifer does some of her best [work] in that scene. Both of them, they’re so perfect for their characters. They’re amazingly talented. And I think that was one of the best scenes in the whole movie.
What do you look forward to as far as future storylines go?In the first book Prim is a young girl who’s afraid of what’s going to happen and she’s really sensitive, but towards the end, in the last book she becomes like Katniss and she becomes this brave, strong female character. I can’t wait to do that in the last movie."

Jennifer Lawrence on the Cover of Rolling Stone

Jennifer Lawrence is on another cover! This time it is Rolling Stone, who also calls her America's Kick Ass Sweetheart. We also have a super funny excerpt from the article.

“Dude!” says Jennifer Lawrence into her cellphone. “I’m lost as fuck! I’ve been driving around for, like, 10 minutes. Where the hell is this place?”
She’s looking for a horse stable. We have plans to go horseback riding in the canyons above Malibu, but neither of us can find the place. I tell her to pull over and I’ll come find her.
The most talented young actress in America is idling on a side street in her white Volkswagen, in blue jeans, a gray T-shirt and designer shades. Her naturally blond hair is pulled back in a loose ponytail, and her elbows are sticking out the open window. She’s famous for playing vulnerable young women with wills of steel, as with her Oscar-nominated turn in Winter’s Bone, or as the bow-and-arrow-toting Katniss Everdeen in the just-released Hunger Games. Right now her face says she means business.
“I have to pee so bad.”
We drive a little more and find the stable, which, it turns out, isn’t a stable, just a red-dirt parking lot where a horse trailer is parked. Lawrence jumps out of the VW and is off like a flash, running off down the trail in search of a bush. Two twentysomething hiker babes in sunglasses and sports bras, SoCal trail chic, do a double take as she sprints past. Was that…?"
You can read more at the link above. The issue will be available on March 30.

Josh Hutcherson is Breakthrough Performer of the Year

The Wrap reports that Josh Hutcherson (Peeta) will be CinemaCon's Breakthrough Performer of the Year! He has been in tons of movies when he was a little kid (remember Bridge to Terabithia?) and is now in the Hunger Games.

"Hutcherson, who plays Peeta Mellark in the hit Lionsgate film, will pick up his hardware at the annual trade show in Las Vegas on April 26.
“With an already impressive resume of films under his belt, Hutcherson is one of the most accomplished young actors of his time,” CinemaCon’s Managing Director Mitch Neuhauser said in a statement. “With the release of ‘The Hunger Games,’ Hutcherson is poised to take the movie world by storm.”

Archery is Back in Pop Culture

ABC News has done a great piece on how archery is back in pop culture by the Hunger Games and other movies out this year that focus on the sport.

"In addition to “The Hunger Games,” a slew of upcoming movies and TV shows feature characters who glamorize the age-old sport of archery, giving it a new edge.
The upcoming superhero movie “Avengers” features the character of Hawkeye, a sharp-shooting archer. “Brave,” a forthcoming Disney-Pixar animated movie, centers around a red-headed princess named Merida whose archery skills help her battle an evil lord. And the CW has announced a new TV show about “Green Arrow,” one of DC Comics’ heroes.
“Archery is definitely having its pop culture moment,” Iaconi said. “I have a feeling it’s the next big thing.”
They also talk about Jennifer Lawrence's archery training.
"When Lorig, who lives in Los Angeles, got a phone call asking if she would coach an actress for an upcoming movie, she agreed without knowing any details.“They didn’t mention the name or anything in particular about her,” Lorig told ABCNews.com. “When I met her, I said, ‘What’s this movie you’re doing?’”
Lawrence told her about the books and Lorig Googled the series and her new student.
“I thought, ‘Oh my gosh. I’m working with a star,” said Lorig, who is originally from the country of Georgia. She and her 19-year-old son, also an archer, started reading the books and were immediately hooked.
Lawrence trained with Lorig, 38, and her son for 15 one-hour sessions.
“She did pretty good,” Lorig said. “She got snapped with the string once on the arm, but she’s strong. She won’t quit easily.”

Hunger Games Covers Entertainment Weekly - Again!

Entertainment Weekly has been a great magazine to get for all the Hunger Games news they have been giving us. Once again, the magazine will be bringing us more that will cover the box office success and the next move, Catching Fire.
"Even the folks who were banking on The Hunger Games being a success were shocked by how many fans and not-yet-fans alike crammed into multiplex seats to watch Katniss fight for her life. “This has exploded beyond anything we could have imagined,” says director Gary Ross. “There are days where it feels like we’re in the middle of some national media event that has nothing to do with entertainment. We keep looking around trying to figure out how this could have actually happened.” Lionsgate is aiming to release the sequel, Catching Fire, around Thanksgiving 2013, but everyone will be returning to work much sooner. “It’s fantastic to finally have the movie out in the world and to see all of these people who love it,” says producer Nina Jacobson, who first picked up the rights to Collins’ novel back in 2009, “but at the end of the day we’ll roll up our sleeves and it’s on to the next one.”
The magazine will be on news stands March 30!

Elizabeth Banks' Chat Transcript

The chat with Elizabeth Banks on her site was amazing! She answered so many fan questions and we have her answers! Q stands for the questions fans asked, A is the answer, and E are other things she said that didn't have to do with her Q&A.

Q: In the pictures, you can definitely see all the makeup on your face! Were that and the outfits uncomfortable??? It looks like the sleeves are wrapped pretty tightly around your arm, and the wig must have been hot in that weather!!
A: I got heat stroke on day two of shooting the reaping because the clothes were so hot and tight. Normally, I like the phrase "hot and tight" but not in this instance.Q: I read that you had your 1 year old on set with you during this project and that it was your first project as a mother. How did you manage your schedule (the make-up, the hair, the NAILS, filming) with a toddler? My sister is a first time mother and I see how a child completely changes your life in regards to priorities and work. I am in such awe of mothers! My time will come, but you guys amaze me!A: I am in awe of all moms too. We need great help and wonderful spouses to deal at all. And I have both.Q: I know you said you were an early fan of the books. What made you pick up the book? Was it recommended? Did you just happen upon it at a bookstore?A: I read The Mazerunner first. It's similarly-themed and a friend said, if you liked that, you'll love The Hunger Games and I did (do!).Q: I know you play Effie and may be a little bias, but who is your favorite character in the series and why?A: I love Buttercup the cat. She's a protagonist to Katniss but never cares and she makes it til the end.Q: From Lonnie: I have two actually...1. Does the amount of graphic violence in this young adult series raise any concerns for you as a mother and 2. Are there plans to do all three books?A: Yes, there are plans, and no, I think we may shield our kids too much. There's a right age for everything. Children need to know about their world - good and bad.E: Hello to all who are just here to say hello!

Josh Hutcherson To Throw Out First Pitch at Reds Game

The Cincinnati Reds have announced that Josh Hutcherson will be throwing out the first pitch at their game against the Marlins on Saturday April 7th at 7:10 PM. Josh is from Union, Kentucky which is close to Cincinnati. Another home town star, Eben Franckewitz, American Idol Season 11 contestant, will sing the National Anthem on the same night, April 7th, which is also the Reds opening night.

"That Is Mahogany!"

"That Is Mahogany!" That is one of the best lines in the entire movie! Effie and Haymitch were so funny! What does Elizabeth Banks think about her line?

“Everyone loved that one,” says Banks of the mahogany line, which has inspired a Facebook fan page and is trending as a popular joke on Twitter and Tumblr.
Because of subject matter, though, “I never wanted to just say a jokey line for a jokey line,” Banks says. “That mahogany line is (saying) these kids, they need to respect. ‘I have been brought up to respect the Capitol and its ideals, and I’m trying to instill that in these tributes because that will reflect best on all of us.’ ”
She also spoke more about Effie.
“He didn’t know how old Effie should be,” says Banks, 38. “I know he looked at Tracey Ullman at one point. I think he was just trying to figure out the world that this was. Then we had a conversation where I said, ‘Well, I want her to be ageless. I want it to be like you don’t know if she’s 35 or 135.
“Then I went to his office and we looked at all of his inspiration boards, and he told me he was going to talk to Lenny (Kravitz) and Woody (Harrelson), and I was like, ‘Great, great’ … ‘Why are you telling me this? You better (expletive) be giving me this movie!’ ” she says, laughing.
“He was like, ‘Yeah, isn’t it obvious? You’re doing it. I didn’t call you down here to waste your time.’ ”“I’m really proud of her,” Banks says. “She’s everything that Gary and I talked about. She came across how I wanted her to. I wanted her to be funny and brittle and a little grotesque and a little mean, and she’s all those things.”

Jennifer Lawrence Gets a Raise!

With all the huge records that the Hunger Games has been making, these stars are sure in for a big pay day! Jennifer was originally paid $500,000 to play Katniss and she will now receive escalators, which are bonuses received after the movie hits certain records in the box office. Now, she will make around $1 million while the movie is in theaters. Previously, she made $3,000 a week in Winter's Bone, so a huge leap in money. We don't know about Josh or Liam, but I would expect the same thing. To compare, Kristin Stewart made $2 million in her first Twilight film and Daniel Radcliffe made $1 million for the first Harry Potter movie.

On the runaway success of the ‘Hunger Games’ trilogy: “We live in a world obsessed with reality shows, we use the personal tragedies to entertain the audience and we want to shock people to succeed.”

Episodes of Effie Answers

To be truthful, I've been so busy with all the premiere news that I forgot about this series hosted by Elizabeth Banks.

Isabelle Fuhrman Searches Rose!

Over the weekend, searches for "Isabelle Furhman", "Clove Hunger Games", and "Isabelle Fuhrman Hunger Games" all rose. I am so happy for Isabelle; she did amazing! I am a huge fan of hers now!

Source: Yahoo

How Many Times Did Isabelle Fuhrman Read the Books?

Isabelle Furhman (Clove) says that she has read the entire series nine times and the first book 13 times! She also talks about her training for the movie.

"ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: When did you first get acquainted with the books?ISABELLE FUHRMAN: Well my agent actually is the one who gave me the first book when Lionsgate had first optioned it, and I read it that night. And then the next day I bought the second one, and read it that night. And then I had to wait until August for the third one to come out, which sucked. But then I read the third one immediately. I’ve read the [full] series nine times now, and the first book 13 [times]. [Chuckling] So I’m a little bit of a fan of it.
Immediately, I was drawn to Katniss, of course. Everyone is. It’s written through her eyes. I wrote a letter to Gary Ross asking if I could audition for it. My agent ended up getting me an audition with [casting director] Debra Zane. I was told I was too young, because I’m 14. So I thought there was no way I was going to be in this movie, but they called asking if I wanted to audition for Clove, like a week later. And here I am.
Wait, you’re 14?Well, I’m 15 now. Still getting used to that. Just turned 15.
When they finally offered you the role, did you want to do it right away?I cried, I was so happy. I was so ecstatic, because, as I said, I was such a huge fan of the books. It was one of those moments where you don’t believe it actually happened. But it did.
What was your training like for Clove?Originally, they wanted me to gain 10 pounds of muscle. And I only had two weeks to do that, which was impossible because I’m, well, very tiny. So they decided just to have me get leaner and more toned. So I ended up getting some muscle tone on me. Because the way Clove is described in the book is this big and burly character, and I’m so not. I really tried to compensate for that with my acting ability and become her physically as much as I can, do all my stunts, and learn how to actually throw knives and combat training and all that.
Learning how to throw knives — what was that like? It was very interesting. I don’t have that strong of an arm, so it was starting with throwing a tennis ball at a target [with] the right form. And then move to a baseball. And then move to plastic knives. And then move to duct-tape-and-cardboard knives. And then move to the actual knives. A lot of it was physics, and knowing how much force to put on the knife. The knife goes three knife-lengths every rotation — a lot times I’d throw it, and it’d end up with the butt end in, and the blade would be sticking out. Which is not what you want to do.
So a lot of practice. I worked, as I said, for two weeks on really perfecting it because I wanted it to be as professional as possible. That’s what [Clove] has been training for her entire life.
By the end, how accurate were you?I can throw right on. Bulls-eye, yeah. It’s very interesting, because now I have a lot better aim with throwing a tennis ball for my dogs. It’s definitely a skill I’m hoping to keep up with, even though it’s very odd.
The cornucopia scene — what was that filming day like? We rehearsed it for a week, and then it took a week to film every single part of it. There’s running in, and each character’s finding a weapon, and fighting for certain things. We were very excited, because the cornucopia were the first scenes we filmed. That’s where we became very close — we call talked with each other and bonded. When we first met, funny enough, it was, “Hi, I’m Dayo [Okeniyi], I’m playing Thresh, I kill you in the movie.”

Score Now Available!

The Hunger Games Original Motion Picture Score is now available for purchase in stores and online. The score is composed by James Newton Howard and produced by T Bone Burnett. The album has 18 tracks and a bonus song that was not in the film.

"I’ve been wanting to work with James for years—ever since I met him on a film I wrote,
DAVE. In the ensuing years, I was literally envious of other directors when I would hear
one of James’ brilliant scores. I couldn’t be more thrilled with his music for THE HUNGER
GAMES. Like all great scores, it sneaks up on you. I loved it when I heard it but then as I
began to mix the film I saw the subtle nuances of what James was doing: “Oh, I see how he
helped that moment… Wow, that is so subtle how he takes the cue to a darker place right
there… Gosh, that line never played that well before.” I think you experience great movie
music with your eyes—it makes the film better. And I owe James a huge debt of gratitude
for doing just that.
T Bone’s ability to capture the unique tone of this movie was indispensable in THE HUNGER
