X Men Sequel Gets July 2014 Release Date

Collider is reporting that the untitled X Men First Class sequel starring Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, a shape shifting mutant, will be released July 18, 2014.

Fox is poised to have a massive year in 2014.  First up, the highly anticipated sequel to last year’s excellent X-Men: First Class has landed a prime July 18th release date in 2014.  Director Matthew Vaughn is poised to return once again, with all of the original cast—including Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult—contracted to reprise their characters.  The sequel is currently untitled, but Simon Kinberg—the scribe behind X-Men: The Last Stand—recently came onboard to write the script.  Vaughn has had a hand in the screenplay in all of his previous projects, so I expect he’ll have a lot of say in the script.  Production is expected to get underway in January once Lawrence wraps The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

This film is what caused the production rush with Catching Fire before Jennifer Lawrence has to get to X Men in January.

Hunger Games Cast to Attend MTV Movie Awards June 3

The MTV Movie Awards are this Sunday and Hunger Games has been nominated 9 times, but who will be there to see the possible victory or loss? Thanks to promo videos on YouTube, we can now say that Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Elizabeth Banks will all be in attendance. Since Liam has been nominated for Breakthrough performance and has done promos, he is also probably going to be in attendance.

The MTV Movie Awards will air live on Sunday June 3 at 9 pm et on MTV.

Kristen Stewart Wouldn't Mind If "Hunger Games" Won Best Kiss

The MTV Movie Awards are Sunday and everyone can't wait to see if The Hunger Games will beat out Twilight (who has won the past four years) in the category of best kiss. While doing promotion for Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart was asked about the "battle" for best kiss and competition with the next big franchise, Hunger Games. 

When asked if she had any fighting talk for Jennifer and Josh, Kristen told MTV.co.uk: “I don’t know. For the last few years it was ‘The Twilight Show’ and it was bizarre and this year’s gonna be fun. It’s gonna be like ‘Oh good, something different! Please God, something different’.
“I would love to see them go up there and I would love to see how someone else dealt with it to be honest. It’s like ‘are you gonna do it?’, ‘are you gonna give it to them’.”
She added: “If we didn’t win, I would actually be stoked to see like how it all goes down and how they handle it.”

Olympian Khatuna Lorig Talks About Training Jennifer Lawrence

E! Online interviewed Khatuna Lorig while she trained for the 2012 Olympics in London. She talked about preparing for the Olympics, training Jennifer Lawrence, and her thoughts about how well she did.

“I got a call that some actress needed to learn how to shoot an arrow,” she explained. “They didn’t tell me much about it…I was asked to make her shoot like a professional.”
The result was daily hourlong training sessions on the very field that Lorig’s own Olympics training is now taking place.
“Who was she? I had no idea,” she said, explaining that it was her own mother who informed her of the status of her A-list trainee. Her reaction?
“Oh my God, I’m working with a star!” She quickly got up to speed on the Hunger Games series, saying, “I started reading it and got hooked right away.” Which means both she and Lawrence were doing their homework, with the fruits of Jennifer’s labor evident onscreen.
“She did really good,” Lorig explained, praising Lawrence’s believability above other onscreen archers.
“We did not laugh at her,” she said, going on to name no names of those she and her Olympic teammates might’ve spared a chuckle or two for. Still, as good as Lawrence is, Lorig has set her sights on helping the starlet achieve perfection, saying she’d love to continue her training and make her “even more glamorous with a bow.”

NECA to Release a Second Set of "Hunger Games" Figurines

NECA has announced a second wave of "The Hunger Games" figurines. This new set will feature training Katniss, training Peeta, arena Rue, and arena Cato. We don't have an official release date set, but Cool Toy Review predicts that they will be out in August.


These look amazingly like Jennifer, Josh, Amandla, and Alexander! It's really cool and creepy... but I know that I'll be purchasing these when they hit shelves!

Apparently, the eyes have it when it comes to Lawrence, 21, who showed off pretty much every aspect of her physique in The Hunger Games this spring.

Jennifer Lawrence is number one of LoveFiLM's list of 2012 top actresses under 30. She was also number one last year. She beat out top actresses like Anne Hathaway, Keira Knightly, Scarlett Johansson, Emma Stone, and Kristen Stewart. The site explain why they chose Jennifer as number one:

Combining down to earth grit, subtlety and resourcefulness, Lawrence already seems more mature and capable than most of her peers. The Oscar-nominated actress scored legions of fans thanks to her starring role as Katniss Everdeen in this year’s box office hit Hunger Games. But don’t expect the young star to fall victim to the pressures of being thin in Hollywood. “I don’t diet,” she told Glamour. “I do exercise! But I don’t diet. You can’t work when you’re hungry, you know?”

No other HG stars made the list, but they deserve it!

Jennifer Lawrence In Talks To Star In "Glass Castle: A Memoir"

Lionsgate has the rights to Jeanette Walls' Glass Castle: A Memoir and we have reports that Jennifer Lawrence is in talks to star in the movie.

This is a real departure for Lionsgate which has mostly specialized in testosterone movies. But chalk it up to the success of female-powered The Hunger Games and the stardom of Jennifer Lawrence. As well as the sensibility of Summit’s Erik Feig, who shepherded the Twilight Saga films and is now production president for Lionsgate as well. He’s just acquired the rights to The Glass Castle: A Memoir by gossip columnist Jeanette Walls. Lionsgate made the deal with Gil Netter (The Blind Side, Life Of Pi) who will produce. Marti Noxon is attached to write the screenplay.

Here is a summary of the story:

 The book — which stayed on the New York Times bestseller list for over 250 weeks — tells the true tale of Walls’ childhood, which found her raised by abusive, dysfuctional parents. Her mother Rose Mary was creative, but also eccentric and immature, owning land in Texas worth millions (something they found out later) while they lived in deep poverty. At one point after Jeanette had grown up, Rose Mary choose to be homeless for the “adventure.” Meanwhile, her father Rex had trouble keeping a job, drank and smoked heavily, and had a dream of striking it rich and building the family the titular “glass castle.”

When Will Catching Fire Shoot?

Jennifer Lawrence is in high demand right now! She is also in the X-Men First Class sequel, which could delay Catching Fire! No worries...

"Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Fox is informing talent agencies Thursday that the studio plans to begin shooting its in-development sequel to X-Men: First Class in January. That means Lionsgate could move forward with an August-September start date for the Hunger Games sequelCatching Fire without a conflict for Lawrence, who is set to star in both.
As THR previously reported, tensions between the studios were running high last month as Fox was considering filming the Matthew Vaughn-directed X-Men follow-up in the fall, potentially conflicting with Lionsgate’s plans for Hunger Games. Fox, which cast Lawrence as the shape-shifting character Mystique in Summer 2010, months before Lionsgate chose her to play Katniss Everdeen in March 2011, has the right to exercise the option on her contract if it conflicts with another Hunger. That’s true even though Lawrence is part of a large ensemble in X-Men but is the clear star of the Hunger franchise."

I am very excited for Catching Fire because it is my favorite book and has my two favorite characters- Johanna and Finnick! I can't wait for casting.

Her naturally blond hair is pulled back in a loose ponytail, and her elbows are sticking out the open window. She’s famous for playing vulnerable young women with wills of steel, as with her Oscar-nominated turn in Winter’s Bone, or as the bow-and-arrow-toting Katniss Everdeen in the just-released Hunger Games. Right now her face says she means business.
“I have to pee so bad.”
We drive a little more and find the stable, which, it turns out, isn’t a stable, just a red-dirt parking lot where a horse trailer is parked. Lawrence jumps out of the VW and is off like a flash, running off down the trail in search of a bush. Two twentysomething hiker babes in sunglasses and sports bras, SoCal trail chic, do a double take as she sprints past. Was that…?"
