Josh Hutcherson Wants To Be Friends With Kristen Stewart

The Hunger Games and Twilight were the front runners at the MTV Movie Awards this weekend (HG won 4 and Twilight won 2). Josh Hutcherson caught up with Kristen Stewart backstage and this was the first time they were able to talk in five years.
“That was awesome to connect with her again, especially after everything that’s happened to the both of us [with 'Twilight' and 'The Hunger Games']. It’s nice to just kind of be able to talk again and hopefully have some sort of friendship. She’s fantastic.”
He talked about the competition between the two popular series/movies.
“Honestly, you know what? I’ve never really felt it to be a competition. And I wish I could pretend like it was ’cause it’d be fun, [but] it’s so not. Their cast is fantastic, our cast is fantastic and there’s never been any bloodshed. … Not yet,” he teased.

Catching Fire Producer Says The Field For Finnick Is "Wide Open"

While at the MTV Movie Awards, the LA Times 24 Frames Blog talked to Nina Jacobson, the producer of Catching Fire, about all the rumors about casting for Finnick. She also talked to them about the impact of fan favorites during the casting.

That’s the thing that’s crazy — people are like way ahead of where we are,” Nina Jacobson told us on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. “We’ve not narrowed things down by any means. It’s funny to see how things can take on a life of their own.”But are the filmmakers taking fan input into account while seeking out their Finnick? Not entirely, says Jacobson.
“It means something that people can see [an actor] in that light, so you know [the actor] will be accepted by a lot of people, on the one hand,” she said. “On the other hand, you have to kind of ignore it. You have to just sort of act like you’re sitting in a room and you want to just pick the person who gives the best audition and looks and feels most like the part.”
Since its release in March, “The Hunger Games” has collected over $645 million worldwide. The next installment is due in November 2013. “That’s pressure,” Jacobson acknowledged with a smile. “But it’s a good kind of pressure.”
So, it looks like the fans are too fast for the producers!

Josh Hutcherson Talks Award Shows, Johnny Depp, and Catching Fire

Josh Hutcherson took home two awards last night, Best Actor and Best Fight, and he took a few moments with E! Online about awards shows, Johnny Depp, and Catching Fire.

Elizabeth Banks and Josh Hutcherson Talk About Zombies and Nominations

MTV talked to Elizabeth Banks and Josh Hutcherson about who from the cast they would save during a zombie attack, Josh's odds of winning Best Actor (which he did), and Elizabeth's transformation to become Effie.

“I might save Woody,” Banks said. “No, he could save himself, maybe. He’s already fought off zombies in one of my favorite zombie movies.”
Banks is of course referring to “Zombieland,” in which Harrelson battled against the walking dead with Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone. But since he proved himself fully capable, the actress picked a different co-star to save: “I probably would save Jennifer,” she said.
Hutcherson nodded in agreement. “I think Jennifer, too,” he said, “just because I think she means the most to the continuing of the story and to the fans.”
“I’d want to be the savior of Katniss,” Banks added.
“That’d be a good one to be,” Hutcherson said.
Among the many nominations for “The Hunger Games,” both actors have a shot at a coveted Golden Popcorn on their own. Banks is up for Best On-Screen Transformation and Hutcherson is vying for Best Male Performance.
“Little guy from Kentucky that could,” the actor laughed when Sway mentioned his shot at the award. “It’s crazy, man. It’s crazy.”
When we asked what it was like to see Banks’ on-screen transformation, he called the process “insane.” “The amount of conversation that went into the smallest details of, like, what color her eyebrows should be was astonishing,” he said. “That whole process was way more than I would ever go through for a role.”

Hunger Games Cast Talks Finnick Castings

When MTV talked to Alexander Ludwig, Josh Hutcherson, and Elizabeth Banks at the MTV Movie Awards, they asked the question on everyone's mind - who do they think should play Finnick?

Josh: “I mean, honestly, I have no idea. I definitely need to re-read the second book,” he said. “I haven’t read it since I first read them, before the first one. So I think I kind of need to read it again to get a better grasp. Physically strong, I think that’s a big important thing. I think somebody who’s kind of similar to Peeta in the sense that he knows sort of how to work the situation a little bit. I think the physicality would be really important for Finnick because he’s such an imposing character, for sure.”
Alexander: “Whenever I read the books, I always thought Ryan Reynolds would be a great Finnick.” he said. “Ryan Reynolds is just how I pictured. I think he’s just got a charisma about him. Whenever I read the books, I was like ‘If I don’t get a [role] in the first one, [then I'd be interested].’ Finnick had always been something I was interested in as a character because he reminds me a little of myself. He’s got a really good charisma about him. He’s also got that bit of an egotistical edge to him which isn’t like me but I love it as character. It’s hilarious and he’s a really strong character too and he’s a really big part of the second book. He’s the most anticipated character in my mind as well. I can’t wait to see who they cast for him.”
Elizabeth: “I don’t [know], honestly,” she said. “Everybody that’s ever been mentioned seems fantastic. I’m sure they’ll find the right fit. I think the cast has come together in such an amazing way so far and I know that their goal is to keep adding the best people and the people that its gonna be great. You know, just charisma, just a lot of charisma. And he’s a looker.”

Josh Hutcherson Talks Catching Fire Location, Francis Lawrence, and Finnick

Josh Horowitz got an interview with Josh Hutcherson at last night's MTV Movie Awards. Josh talked about possible filming locations for Catching Fire, more about Francis Lawrence, and Finnick casting.

On filming locations: “I haven’t heard anything confirmed yet, but Atlanta is definitely a big possibility. I know their looking at Hawaii too for some of the tropical stuff when we’re in the Games itself. But I’m excited. It’s going to be somewhere nice. I’m looking forward to it.”
On meeting Francis Lawrence: “I actually had lunch with him a couple of days ago. He’s fantastic! He’s so smart and he really has his finger on the pulse of the story. I love the way he’s going to structure the script…The first thing he said to me was ‘I want to make the movie out of the book. I want the book to be the best movie possible.’ Which means a lot to me because the books mean a lot to me.
On Finnick rumors: “I have no idea. Honestly…I don’t go on the internet very often and I have no idea. I’ve heard some great names, but I know nothing.”

Elizabeth Banks Talks Her Memorable Awards Moment and Thanks Her Fans

Elizabeth Banks probably had one of the best moments of the MTV Movie Awards when she was given her golden popcorn for Best Movie Transformation by Magic Mike. Elizabeth talks about that moment and more in an interview with Josh Horowitz backstage at the MTV Movie Awards.

Though she was honored by the award, Banks had only one thing on her mind when MTV News’ Josh Horowitz asked for her reaction to the statuette. “I’m a little parched, yeah. I need some water!” Banks exclaimed with a laugh. Perhaps it wasn’t just the win that had her dry-mouthed, but Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey and Joe Manganiello, who presented her with the Golden Popcorn.
“Honestly, thank God I had those guys up there so I could make a little bit of it. I just wanted to have fun with it,” she said.
Unfortunately, Banks remembered that she forgot to thank one important group. “I didn’t thank the fans,” Banks said. “See, you just reminded me. I forgot to thank the fans. It’s all about the fans. Oh, well. Thank you fans!”

Josh Hutcherson Say Francis Lawrence Has "Great" Ideas for Catching Fire

At the MTV Movie Awards, Josh Hutcherson was caught on the red carpet for some interviews. Josh talked to E! Online about his first meeting with Francis Lawrence, the director for Catching Fire.

“I sat down with him a couple of days ago,” Hutcherson told me at the MTV Movie Awards. “He’s fantastic. He’s such a smart guy. He has some great ideas for the movie.
“I just really like where his head is at,” he continued. “I really like him a lot.”
Most of their chat focused on Peeta.
“We talked about character development in the stories,” Hutcherson said. “As you know, the second book is more complicated than the first, so we talked about the narrative. Everything he said was super smart.”
It seems like Josh likes what is in store, so that is a good sign! :)

Leven Rambin Wants You To Vote for Hunger Games at the MTV Movie Awards

The MTV Movie Awards are tomorrow night (voting ends at 10 PM) but there is still time to vote and that is exactly what Leven Rambin wants you to do!

“All the fans that saw the ‘Hunger Games’ — they came out to all the events, they came out to the malls and the premiere and they camped [out],” Rambin told MTV News. “This was the first movie in our franchise and you guys showed so much love and hard-core dedication, so please give our little movie some votes this year.”
The film is vying for a Golden Popcorn against the likes of “Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ and the last “Harry Potter” flick, so Rambin knows the competition is stiff. “We know we’re the underdog and we’re the new kids and we really pushed through,” she said. “We made a great movie and you guys were awesome the whole time. So vote for ‘Hunger Games’ [for] Best Cast and I’m sure we’ll be there to receive our honors. Thank you for your support.”
If you want to help them win, make sure to vote in all 9 categories here.
