Teasers from the Hunger Games People Magazine

The magazine will come out on Friday and I am excited to pick it up! Here are some new quotes and details from the magazine.

"Peeta Mellark – Josh Hutcherson reveals why he’s perfect to play courageous baker’s son Peeta, his most intense day of shooting, and what he loves about leading lady Jennifer Lawrence. Jennifer “always says what she thinks,” Hutcherson tells PEOPLE. “A lot of people are too worried they’re going to offend someone, so I found that really admirable.” He also reveals, “I got a minor concussion during filming when Jennifer accidentally kicked me in the head. We were goofing off, shadowboxing, and suddenly her boot hit me in the temple.”
Gale Hawthorne – Liam Hemsworth talks about why he was drawn to the role of Gale – and whether he’s ready for Hunger Games mania. He tells PEOPLE that during the filming of the reaping, “It’s pretty horrific to watch little kids go through that process. It was also really hot. We were in the sun all day, and some of the extras actually collapsed.”
Effie Trinket – Elizabeth Banks delivers the scoop on how she transformed into the Capitol’s devilish diva. “Katharine Hepburn was an inspiration for the voice – the cadence, the wit, the preponderance of etiquette,” she tells PEOPLE.
Get Katniss’s Look – How to achieve the rustic vibe (from both District 12 and the Games) and the outfit from her Games interview. “I only cared about the boots. I had to wear them every day, do all my stunts in them,” Jennifer Lawrence tells PEOPLE. “They were the most important part of everything, and they were perfection.”
Up Close with Rue – Hanging out with 13-year-old Amandla Stenberg, the actress who plays a key role in the Games. She tells PEOPLE, “We were filming in a meadow, and someone stepped on a hornets’ nest near me. Jennifer came to the rescue. She picked me up and pulled me out of the swarm.”
Behind the Scenes – On-set secrets from the movie’s director, production designer, and makeup artist. “We weren’t trying to recreate a 1920s Depression-era environment, but we used it as our foundation,” production designer Philip Messina tells PEOPLE. “We wanted to create a place that felt like people did 14 hours of physical labor a day and weren’t getting enough to eat. Where the citizens are always one step away from giving up.”
Friends and Foes – A-list costars Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci, and Donald Sutherland talk about taking on their pivotal roles in the movie."

Three District Stylist Winners

The Capitol was hiring some new stylists and the winners have been chosen!

"Winner: Jon Sams
Tumblr:http://jonsams.tumblr.com

Stylist Jon Sams’ innovative appropriation of District 6’s transportation technology left Capitol Couture’s judges swooning. Well done, Jon – we can’t wait to see how great these shoes look in motion!"

"Winner: Kayla Waters
Tumblr: N/A
Stylist Kayla Waters impressed the judges with her efforts to make District 1’s legendary decadence a part of both the inside and the outside of her shoes. Congratulations, Kayla – we think you’ve got a real ‘Career’ in fashion ahead of you!"

"Winner: Jeremy Berger
Tumblr: http://melchiors.tumblr.comInspired by the already-legendary “Girl on Fire” dress worn by District 12’s Katniss Everdeen at the Opening Ceremonies, Stylist Jeremy Berger’s “Heels On Fire” shoes refrain from setting the wearer’s entire foot on fire, instead keeping all flammable material on the stiletto heels. Congratulations on devising such a hot look, Jeremy!"
If you didn't win, another contest is starting soon all about makeup. Watch for it here.

Amandla Stenberg with People

In this video, Amandla talks about her first day on set and how Jennifer is the prankster!

Cineplex Magazine - Jennifer Lawrence

In the most recent issue of Cineplex magazine, Jennifer gave an awesome interview and the cover is so pretty!
"Cineplex: Is it true you fell in love with archery?

Jennifer Lawrence: I did. I have a love/hate relationship with archery. It’s a bitch when you mess it up and you hit the inside of your arm and it swells up and it hurts. But then you hit the target, you hit the bull’s eye, it’s the best feeling in the entire world. I really did start to love it.
CP: And is it safe to say you are the best Oscar-nominated tree climber out there?
JL: “Oh, that’s quite a title, but I’ll go for it.”
Cineplex: What’s the secret to being a good tree climber?
JL: “A harness and a wire [laughs]. The secret is I was trained with a specific kind of choreography — this hand goes here, this hand goes there, using these knots to hold onto. And those knots were then transferred over to the tree where they were disguised to look like little knobs in the tree bark. And then it’s just choreography.
CP: Why do you think The Hunger Games has struck a nerve with so many people?
JL: “Because it’s a story that reminds us of the worst part of humanity. We’re living in a world obsessed with reality television and our shock factor is constantly desensitized. It takes more and more to surprise us and interest us, and we feed off of other people’s trauma.”
CP: And then there is Katniss, who represents female empowerment.
JL: “Absolutely, she is a symbol for revolt and hope and freedom. She is this young girl who is forced to do things that are unimaginable. She wants more for the world. She’s kind of a futuristic Joan of Arc.”
CP: There is so much pressure associated with the role — living up to the expectations of the fans, and carrying what may ultimately be three films on your shoulders. What’s that like?
JL: “You can’t really think about that. I mean, I am aware of it and I appreciate it, understand its gravity, but you can’t think about it too much or it’ll freak ya out.”

New Still of Effie & Six Secrets!

Glamour posted this new still of Effie! Look at her eye shadow and nails!
0223-hunger-games-jennifer-lawrence.jpg
They also posted six secrets which included that Jennifer beat out half of young Hollywood for the role, Katniss' archery skills are real, the movie used 35 full time makeup artists, Suzanne Collins got her start in TV, you can buy these eyelashes, there's an angsty love triangle - just like Twilight. Make sure you read the full article for more description on each of the secrets.

Mattel Katniss Barbie Doll

To add to your shopping list, a Katniss Barbie Doll made by Mattel has been made available for preorder on Entertainment Earth, however no picture is available yet. The description reads:
"With this Barbie Hunger Games Doll you can style Barbie just like Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games movie! Hunger Games, a movie starring Jennifer Lawrence, is adapted to film from the original young adult novel by writer Suzanne Collins. The doll's outfit is made to replicate the very same one worn by the feature character in the movie, and it measures 12 inches tall! Ages 6 and up."
Exciting! I knew they would get one, like other popular franchises like Twilight, Harry Potter, and Victorious. I hope that they either make more outfits (like the girl on fire!) or more characters (I would love Effie!) The doll is $27.99 and should be available in April.

Hunger Games Microsoft Laptop

The page has been removed but it did say that they would be selling a Hunger Games themed laptop! The site description reads:
"Show your appreciation for the movie The Hunger Games with this special edition HP Folio 13 ultrabook. The lid is laser engraved with the movie title and District 12 insignia, giving you a look that's permanent, unlike that of skins or stickers which can peel or fade."
Then it goes to talk about all the technical stuff that should always be read before buying a computer - especially online! The computer was priced $1,040. I hope it goes back on sale!

Win a Trip to the Hunger Games!

Ryan Seacrest is giving away a trip to the Hunger Games world premiere at the Nokia Theater on March 12, 2012. The Grand Prize is roundtrip coach airfare for four people to LA, two nights hotel stay, and four tickets to the premiere. The contest ends March 4. You must be a legal resident of the 48 continental United States and District of Columbia and 13 years of age. Head over to the link above to enter!

Leven Rambin with E!

E! talked to Leven Rambin, who plays Glimmer (and looks amazingly like Glimmer!) She was asked about the drama free set and replied:
"Well, everyone was in a relationship going into the movie, pretty much...there were a lot of moms around to keep us all in line, because a lot of the kids were younger. It was kind of low key, just a professional vibe. Everyone was really professional. There wasn't anything too gossipy to report."
Sounds like one big family!

Quiz: Who Is Your Hunger Games Style Icon?

Teen.com has a quiz on their website that will help you decide who to dress up as when you go see the movie! Or you can just find your fashion icon. It is really fun and I got Effie - Flowery Fashionista. The description reads, "Wait, was that you front row at Fashion Week? Fashion is your life and you pride yourself on being the girl everybody looks to for what's hot right now. You live to color coordinate and, like Effie, you love girly flowers and anything pink. From the top of her perfectly placed wig to the tips of her high heels, Effie is always fashion forward and sets all the trends in the Capitol." Other possible outcomes are:

Cinna - Mad for Metallic: "Even though Cinna isn't the one wearing all the fashions doesn't mean he isn't one of the biggest fashionist-os in the Capitol! You love fashion, but more to look at and admire than actually wear. You prefer the little embellishments like hints of metallics here and there with a few key pieces of jewelry. Oh, and don't forget about that signature gold eyeliner..."

Caesar - Glitzy Glam: "You love glitter, sparkles and anything that shimmers. Like Caesar, you like your clothes to shine as much as your personality. You're so versatile that you can change your hair and still look fab in whatever color you want. We love that you can show your individuality through your fiery fashion sense!"

Katniss - Boho Warrior: "Like Katniss, you just have better things to do than dress up. You like to feel cozy and just wear whatever works with the fun activity you're out doing. Katniss is the type of girl that just kind of goes with what works for her, stylewise. You know what works for you so why be bothered with all the trends when there's so much else going on, right?!"

Jennifer Lawrence on the cover of UK Glamour

"I love the relaxed way British girls dress. I think I dress like one. I like Topshop, Portobello Road, and Selfridges - although, I always get Selfridges and Waitrose mixed up, which has led to a few disappointing shopping trips."

"I look at Kristen Stewart now and I think, "I'd never want to be that famous. I can't imagine how I'd feel if all of a sudden my life was pandemonium. But I love my job. I can take months off, and I get a lot of money - way more money than any 21 year old should have - so what is there really to complain about?"

Little Less Than One Month!

We now have a little less than one month for the premiere of the movie! I am very excited. I would make sure that you buy your tickets, if your theater has them available. Mine doesn't, but when they do, I am going to jump on them.

New Pic of President Snow!

We have been getting a ton of pictures of President Snow recently!

Happy Birthday Isabelle Fuhrman!

I am probably the only person that loves Clove. I have nothing against her for killing Katniss and I actually cried when she died. I also love Isabelle's attitude. She might be the next big thing!

So, happy 15th birthday Isabelle Fuhrman! Make sure you tweet her at @isabellefuhrman.

Hunger Games Trailer on Hulu!

So I'm just sitting there, watching New Girl because I'm really behind and there it is! The trailer!!

It was so cool to watch the trailer! You guys should see if it shows during your show! Hulu is a great website where you can watch TV shows after they come on, sometimes before!

Hunger Games is PG-13

It's official! Hunger Games as received a rating from the MPAA of PG-13, like the producers wanted. I truly couldn't imagine it being anything but PG-13. Other PG-13 movies, like Harry Potter and Twilight, also have a similar feel.
It was rated PG-13 for "Intense Violent Thematic Material and Disturbing Images - All Involving Teens." I love them saying that is all involving teens. So spot on!

Behind the Scenes of Safe & Sound Music Video

No, this is not a repost! Another video has come out from behind the scenes. Check it out!

End Hunger

One of the main topics in the books is hunger. People die of hunger in the games and even back home in their districts. It is a very serious topic even now. The cast of the Hunger Games is teaming up to help end hunger.
"Hunger affects nearly a billion people, more than the populations of the United States, Canada and the European Union – combined. This means 1 in every 7 people in the world will go to bed hungry tonight, many of whom are children. But together, we have the power to turn that around."
"Whether young or old, male or female – hunger doesn’t discriminate. When it comes to children and hunger, the effects can be irreversible. Without the right nutrition, millions of children will never have a chance at a bright future.
That’s why the Hunger Games, the World Food Programme, and Feeding America have teamed up against hunger. For as little as $5, we can provide a child with a nutritious meal in school for an entire month. School meals mean that more kids – especially girls – are enrolled in school and stay in school, giving them the chance to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
If you’re in the US…
Your donation will be processed by WFP USA. 25% of your gift will be directed to Feeding America to support those who are food insecure (1 in 6 Americans). Your donation is tax-deductible.
If you’re outside the US…
Your donation will be processed by the World Food Programme, supporting school meals programmes all around the world. Donations are tax-deductible for residents of Canada, the Netherlands, and South Korea."

Hunger Games vs. Twilight

Have you been wondering about the mass number of ticket sales yesterday? My local theater has already sold out for the midnight showing. Here is some amazing news!
"LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Fandango, the nation’s leading moviegoer destination, announced today that advance ticketing records were set by Lionsgate’s upcoming thriller, “The Hunger Games”, which has already sold out hundreds of  showtimes in advance of the film’s March 23 release date. Even though the film doesn’t open for another month, the first-day ticket sales on Wednesday, February 22 broke the previous first day advance ticket-seller record held by “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” on Friday, May 14, 2010. “‘The Hunger Games’ is off to a fantastic start,” says Rick Butler, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Fandango. “Yesterday we saw the biggest first day advance ticketing sales in our company’s nearly 12-year history – which is especially impressive for a March release and a non-sequel.”
I better get on buying my tickets! I think I am going three times with three different groups of people! But, seriously, I was going to watch it that many time anyway :)

About THE HUNGER GAMES
Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games.  A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.
Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy.  If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 23.5 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following.
Lionsgate will release THE HUNGER GAMES on March 23, 2012.

The Capitol is looking for new staff. President Snow is wanting to hire some new stylists:

"Need some inspiration to prove to Capitol Couture that you've got style? Look no further than your feet!
In the first District Style Challenge, presented in partnership with Moviefone.com, we're looking for designs for shoes inspired by your District.
